After 14 years with Christopher Phelps and Associates it was time to move on. During my 14 years with CP&A, I learned a tremendous amount about every aspect of the business. Over the past four years I had been designing homes for over twenty different builders and providing enough work to keep my team of four draftsmen busy. My team averaged over 70 homes every year over the past four years. I had an integral part in starting up the satellite office in Charleston and designed five homes in this year’s Street of Dreams in Hidden Lake in the Raleigh area. Only two of which were built. I enjoyed going into other markets and making an impact. I still do designs in these markets because of the great business relationships I have created over the years while in those markets. Finding draftsmen that have design ability and understand the construction details needed to build homes in the high-end market is not an easy task. I have been blessed with being able to keep working with two of the best. I worked with Troy Smith and Jeremy Pasell at CP&A for the past five years and we all found ourselves pursuing our own interests over the past three months. I have supported their new company Gulfstream Plans & Designs. We managed to gravitate to each other and are enjoying working together and helping each other out. As a team we are decreasing our turn around time in every aspect of the design and working drawing process. At this time, we are working towards our goal of turning around six or more homes per month while giving our clients a personal hands-onexperience. We would also like to welcome to our team a group of gentlemen that we have all worked with over the years. Formerly of Verna Engineering, now beginning their new endeavor, Mike Gervais, Marcel Papineau, Chad Ritter , and Cass Ward of Intelligent Design Engineering, P.C. Over the years we have had a great relationship with these guys and will support their new company. As with anything in life, you take the good with the bad and try to make the best of every situation. Is it fate or destiny or just dumb luck? Whatever it is all of these guys have a talent in what they do and a deeply seeded desire to give our clients the best product for the best price in a timely fashion. We are all networking together to create new business relationships with old and new clients. It is a certainty that we all have and will continue to produce the highest quality products. For those that have been receiving our designs over the past three months we say thank you for trusting in our abilities. We look forward to hearing from everyone else.
