Carolina Residential Design |
Looking back 200 years, North Carolina has had a rich heritage in traditional architecture. The state capitol is one of the finest examples of Antebellum architecture in the country. The coastal areas are proud of their vernacular residents with their deep piazzas and breezy rooms. The piedmont and mountain regions have their stone homes, rising from the ground in simple grandeur. We can learn a lot from our architectural past. It is there that we will find the close ties between the family, their home and the surrounding community.
Carolina Residential Design and Todd Tucker have been designing homes for fifteen years, focusing on traditional vernacular and classical design.
Todd Tucker is a professional member of the AIBD and a professional member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America. He has attended advanced lectures on coastal plains and low country architecture, traditional neighborhood developments, and the study of the Georgian and Federal periods. He has visited several historical towns to photo-document the tradititional styles, including Astoria, OR, New Orleans, LA, Charleston, SC, Beaufort, SC, Philadelphia, PA, and Wilmington, NC.
